The original was a groundbreaking open-source project created by "hainguyents13." However, as with many open-source projects, development on the original repository eventually slowed down.

(Mechvibes++) is a free, open-source custom modification of the original Mechvibes application. It plays mechanical keyboard sounds as you type on your computer. In the Mechvibes Plus Plus interface, click on the Custom Folder button. This opens the local directory where the app looks for sound profiles. This link or copies made by others cannot be deleted

To play a sound, the software must listen to your keyboard input. However, the open-source code has been audited by the community. Mechvibes Plus Plus does not contain keyloggers. It captures the key scan code, matches it to a sound file, and discards the data immediately. It has no network telemetry unless you manually click "Check for updates."

Upon opening, you can choose from the pre-installed sound packs.
